Does anyone have a list they can post of all the models of skis that will be eligible to race in VINTAGE SKI this season? I've heard rumors about roundnose SJs, SXIs, and maybe even SXI pros being permitted - so I'd just like to know what to expect and/or what my options are.

I know the posted rules here state that all 1995 and older model SKIS are allowed in Vintage Ski, but I know exceptions to that rule have already been made in the past. It would just be nice to know what the "official" exceptions are prior to lining up for a moto ;).

Also, if I show up to race in Sport Class on my Blaster, and no other Blasters or HXs show up - but 3 X-2s show up that day - what class would the X-2s race in? And, if the X-2s don't race in the Sport Class in that case, what class would I run my Blaster with (still assuming I'd be scored as Sport)?

Thanks for any input.

hey fox river,
any stand-up pwc with a 750cc or smaller engine may race in retro ski class. That would be SX, SXI, SXI-PRO, super jets- any year, 550, 440, 650 as long as they are STAND-UP watercraft you may race in retro ski class.
With the rule change for stock class super-jets being able to run a pipe and sponsons, look for the come back of the Yamaha Super Jet in Novice,Expert and PRO-AM stock ski classes.
If you come to the races with a sport class boat i will do my best to run you in your own moto. The same goes for any X-2's, separate moto.
Remember its OPEN CLASS rules on all of these boats in retro class. I do hope that covers your Q's. scott.

Thanks a lot for the reply, Scott. That helps a bunch. So, to be clear, you are saying that the X-2 will not be racing in Vintage Ski, and will only be racing in the Sport class, correct? Although, I would assume, in the interest of filling up motos, if the only Sport class boats that show up are X-2s, that you may run them alongside skis in Vintage Ski, but score them as Sport class - right? That would seem to be logical, and help to make things more interesting for the racers as well as the spectators.

As far as allowing the 1996 and newer skis (that you listed) in Vintage, that seems reasonable. Do you know if they allow those same exceptions at the APBA Nationals? Do you recall any SXIs, SXI Pros, or newer SJs running in Vintage Ski last season at your events?

Thanks again,
Paul
