Hey, looks like the dates and places are set in stone. Dont know if anyone has seen this but it looks like they took out a race site because we had 8 days of racing before I think. And there was one TBA but it looks like its all settled. Here it is copied from the glwt site

Set in stone. You crack me up young Spencer :).
PP was previously 2 days. Sucks to have just one day there.
June 14 TBA is gone. I guess it turned out to be a TBE (to be eliminated)??? Oh well, at least we're getting all this info long before the ice melts.

Great Lakes Watercross
Dates and Race Sites
[u]Tentative</u>
Nothing "wrong" with it, 'cept that the GLW site still says the schedule is "tentative", and recent years have demonstrated that the posted schedule often changes multiple times between February and the first actual race.

nothing is set in stone until the event has been completed. I would be on the look out for another event I know there is talk of one more city.

Did you say something, Craig? ;)
Buck up little camper. We'll figure something out. Just make sure that RV gets a fresh oil change and a tune up before Memorial weekend...

Less race weekends mean more money saved and more training weekends...
Not to mention there is always the "National Tour" and Havasu.

I'm not trying to get people away from this region at all. I'm just suggesting that if 5 races isn't enough, we have other options that are very doable. Yes, these options require longer travel distances, but there are ways to make it affordable as a group, and the events in region 6 are of a higher caliber (with many more racers attending) than what we've experienced here as of late, IMHO. Also, let's not forget that competition brings out the best in businesses, if they truly want to survive.
Also, keep in mind that, as the GLW schedule sits now, our local season ends on July 26th. My last post to Craig is mainly suggesting that we don't have to skip regional racing for the entire month of August if we don't want to, simply because our local schedule keeps losing race dates. I'm not at all suggesting going to Walled Lake in August [u]instead of</u> hitting the region 4 events - I'm suggesting [u]adding this event</u> to our plans.
I hold no ill-will from last year. I fully planned to attend the first GLW race in May of 08. It was cancelled about 2 weeks prior, so I did what I had to do to get Patrick to offer vintage in his region, and I went there - because I really wanted to race sooner than the last weekend in June, and I ended up having an absolute blast in Walled Lake. What can I say? (Side note: think about all that transpired as a result of PP getting cancelld in 08, and me then petitioning Patrick to offer vintage and working to get the racers for that first weekend - he wound up with 10-15 vintage racers per event all season, vintage at nat'ls, and 2 nat'l vintage classes for 09.) Next to nationals later in 2008, Walled Lake was the most fun I'd ever had at a race. So, I attended LaX in June, then had some things I wanted to discuss w/Scott afterwards (like not having pre-race safety inspection, holeshot layout/design, etc...), and got no response from him until December. Yep, I wanna race, and I wanna have fun, but I also have a wife, 3 kids, and 10 employees that count on me to do my real job 6 days a week - so feeling that the racing conditions are as safe as reasonably possible matters to me a lot, it HAS to matter to me. Though I try to pretend I'm still a kid, I'm just not a kid anymore. Yes, I know racing is a risky activity to begin with, but obviously there are ways to limit the dangers and risks. And we all know who/where the minimization of danger/risk has to stem from to be effective. So, anyhow, Sheboygan fell on a weekend that wasn't convenient for me, and after getting no response to my concerns, it made my decision to skip it pretty easy. As for PDC, by then I'd decided to save my money to go to nationals instead, but I still feel very bad for Craig on that one, cuz I know it's kinda "his" race - but he and I talked quite a bit about it, and I hope he still understands my position.
I truly do still feel bad about last season, as my decision to skip those races also kept a few other racers (some would-be new racers) from attending as well. I realize this hurts the tour, but as I've already stated, I basically did what I felt I had to do as a family man and a business manager. Also, while I certainly don't expect to gain anyone's respect as a result of racing, I also don't appreciate feeling disrespected. Like I've stated many times prior, I want to have fun when I race, and spending money while feeling disrespected doesn't add up to fun for me.
So, anyhow Joe, you know how much I respect you as a person and a racer, and I would never take offense to any of your opinions - and it's the guys like you that are a big part of why I'm ready to line up again this season. You also know that I can be one of this tour's biggest advocates (for free), but I simply have to feel like my advocacy is wanted. (And you know how hard I've tried to volunteer my help.) If my advocacy and help is wanted, that's great, and you'll see me doing all I can. If it isn't, then I'm content with being just another racer lining up to have all the fun I can...

I understand how I may have come across that way. As far as close (to me and you) races like PP and Kenosha, it's a no brainer to hit those GLW spots. I would never skip a PP or Kenosha race to drive all the way to region 6 instead. The tough decisions for me nowadays are driving 4 hours for a GLW race versus 6-7 hours for a region 6 race (when my $$$ forces me to choose one or the other), and I've already told you why that is - and now the 1-day races add another factor to consider (which has some good and some bad points), ya know?
I know good times are awaiting us. I have no doubts about that. Like everyone else involved here, I just want to know something solid that allows me to plan sooner than later. When the local schedule keeps changing, it makes thinking about wandering to other races/regions tougher to resist.
I was looking at Walled Lake due to the fact that my sisters graduation party might be the weekend of PP. I am trying to find out for sure on that. Also it would be good racing a larger line before Nashville.
